Nice Corners Of The Internet

The other day I was looking for a funky desktop wallpaper. Low and behold I came across Design Love Fest; a lifestyle blog fabricated by design. A section on the blog is “downloads” where you can scroll through endless amounts of free desktop and phone wallpapers, handmade by illustrators and typographers alike. So if you’re looking to snazz up your tech, look no further!

Now I LOVE this website. As a fan of editorial and print design, this site is overflowing with paper goodness. Its motto is “daily inspiration for print lovers” and it does what it says on the tin.

If you’re a typographical fanatic, you may have already stumbled across this corner of the web. If not, well I am here to show you! Type Connection is a “typographic dating game” where you can select a font and go through steps to find its perfect match. You can select if you want a ‘family’ match to a ‘contrasting’ match. It’s a great tool if you’re looking for a foolproof font to be in tune with one you have chosen prior. It’s also a neat learning device.

Akaoni design is a design house based in Japan. I am a lover of contemporary Japanese and Asian graphic styles, hence why this website is a pleasure to scroll and click though.

A project started in 2011 by Bernd Kuchenbeiser is what birthed “a good book”. Kuchenbeiser takes photos of any and every book that catches his attention, and then uploads them to this site. The one thing I love about this page is that his book finds differ drastically in style and function; for he has old and new, photography and storybooks, even books in fancy envelopes. There is something on here to suit everyone.

I hope this left you wanting to explore the vast expanses of the world wide web. If you have any of your own groovy websites that you would like me to see, comment below!
