Much like our previous Tasty Type of Clarendon, Rockwell is a slab-serif typeface. Distinguished for its un-bracketed serifs and strokes being of the same weight, Rockwell has become a timeless classic. Released in 1934 by (you guessed it) Monotype, it has become a popular choice for headline text in many publications. The font was revived by Morris Fuller Benton (Famous for creating many of the ‘Gothics’) in 1920, after he cut new weights based off of the 1910 typeface ‘Litho Antique’. It has geometric aspects that can be noted on the letter ‘o’.

Trilogy Egyptian Bold

Geometric Slabserif 712

We have ‘Geometric Slabserif 712’ from the 1900’s to ‘Trilogy Egyptian Bold’ produced in 2009

Vertical stress

Minimal stroke contrast

Strong squared serifs

Uppercase ‘Q’ tail is curved and on the outside of the bowl

Uppercase ‘A’ apex serif is a distinct mark of Rockwell

Paired with this handwritten script, Rockwell is used as a sub heading for this soda brand, the two compliment each other nicely.

This textile trader have used only the font for the signage of their shop. With such strong strokes, it really is a feature against the black walls.

Futura Medium, personally I cannot get enough of this font. As you can see my blogs titles are top examples of this.
(Also goes with Comic Neue)

 (It’s just not Clarendon)
