Five Funky Things

I seem to love doing things in fives, so here we go!

Macaron Eyeshadow

This sweet little eyeshadow is from Beauty Buffet. I love Beauty Buffet due to their quirky packaging, hence why this had to be mine. This is a lovely warm cream colour, and has so much shine to it. I have been applying this to the corners of my eyes and the centre of my lids to give them a wonderful pop!

Lucky Cat

Yes, I know what you are thinking, why do I even have one of these. Well here's the thing, this guy is freekin adorable! I was in MBK and was drawn to this cute version of Maneki-Neko, these "Lucky Cats" are believed to bring good luck to the owner and are usually placed near the entrance of shops to bring in customers. As I do not own a shop, he has pride of place in my room, spreading luck around me.

"Flyer Design" Book

Asia Books seems to have masses of cool design books lately, so I grabbed this amazing "Flyer Design" one. Even though the book is in Japanese, this did not put me off, the images are amazing and it's bursting with brilliant executions of design. It mixes cute and creative, I love it.

Maybelline Mini Powder

Now 7/11 has some interesting items, and in the abyss of strange 'to-go' products was this really handy "Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One" powder. It's so mini and useful. It comes with a little built-in mirror and powder pad for application. This stuff takes the shine straight off and even has SPF 25!

Tin Bowl

Another completely random purchase was this tin bowl. I got this at an Antiques Market in Bang Na and was drawn to the paint flick effect, best thing is that it was only 60p. You can never have enough receptacles!

And there we go, some five funky things for you to feast your eyes on!

An Arty Booty

I know, I know, it's been a while since I last blogged and I am honestly so so sorry! I have been busy back in the land of Thai and due to that I have been rather occupied. But alas, without further ado here is a fairy cute art supplies haul...

Kawaii Animal Washi Tape

I walked into Zeen Zone, and out of the corner of my wee little eye was this extremely cute washi tape! It has little teeny animal figures all over it, each doing something such as eating or the conga. As the name of the tape is in Japanese I have absolutely no idea what it is called or the brand name.

Mini Pom Pom Strings

If you have been out and about recently you will have noticed that the pom pom craze is kicking off. These little fluffy things are all over shorts and crop tops these days, thus are now widely available in craft stores. I picked up these mini pom pom strings for just over £1 and just imagine the delightful possibilities!

Bear Washi Tape

So as you can tell I am adding washi tape into my life. This thin tape is also from Zeen Zone and look how charming is is!

Square Sketch Book

These are my favourite sketchbooks, they are by a brand called 'Archimycheal' and are brilliant! They have normal paper, not watercolour so when you paint the colour does come through, but the ruggedness of these sketchbooks is why I love them. They have a solid cover and back, thus you can doodle anywhere.

Farm Yard Stickers and Tape

As an avid sticker collector I couldn't miss a chance to add to my collection. These also came with a bonus grass-like washi tape.

Blue Gridded Washi Tape

Yep. More washi tape. This one is more versatile though as it is just a nice simple pattern.

Mushroom Pattern Notebook

I have another notebook by this brand and absolutely love it. They have little square tabs in the back that you can pull out, so you don't have to tear a whole page out if you want to pass a note on. This one has teeny mushys all over it, anything with plants, I'll have it.

I hope you enjoyed my little haul, and sorry for the vast amount of washi tape!

My Inspiration Journal!

I often find myself falling in love with many different artists and artworks, instead of just bookmarking them all on my computer, about 6 months ago I started an "Inspiration Journal". In this little notebook I insert:
  • One-off artworks I love
  • Artists and their work that I am fascinated by
  • Ideas that I would like to try out myself
I would like to share this humble book with you and maybe I will inspire you to create your own!

Front and back of the journal:

I like to stick (artists work and my own stuff) and doodle on the journals cover to make it all pretty and eye catching!

Some pages to show you:

Useful Ideas:

I chose these cute bear tabs as, well, they are bear tabs!

My A6 notebook is from Typo, and is very alike a Moleskin, but half the price! I find it is a great size (It can fit in my bag when travelling) as it is not too big and not too small that I would need to use tiny images.

After looking at this blog post and you want to create your own, please do so and share it with me, I would love to see!
